World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of an item level upgrade. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can boost an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade items increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all the leveled up perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is due to how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). The average item level can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the item level. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the item's level.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the item level calculation is done. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's real item level.

This isn't the only factor that affects the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For instance, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

item upgrading Stats

Item stats are a big element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods which are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded once however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which of the available stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it's a unique item or an item that is a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't show all possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in the early game, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each item level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it does not work.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing can't be greater than 100%..

The success of an item can be affected by the Luck of that item. Each item has a success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects may be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
